Friedman et al. [10] reported that 5/ ~ 1500 cases (~ 0.3%) [all 5 cases representing 4 Ashkenazi Jewish (AJ) families] who were DH for one of the predominant AJ PSV in BRCA1 and the predominant AJ PSV in BRCA2. The phenotype of these 5 patients was breast cancer (BC) at age 38 and 45 years, ovarian cancer at age 50 and 57 years, and one asymptomatic, cancer-free case at age 50 years. The gene discussed is BRCA2; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
