Despite rarely mutating in NB, TP53 expression levels are directly correlated to MYCN amplification and high expression is a negative prognostic factor.57 Tumors carrying TERT rearrangements or MYCN amplification result in high TERT expression levels and are associated with an unfavorable prognosis.58Forkhead box R2 (FOXR2), encoding the FOXR2 transcription factor, is aberrantly upregulated in 70% of human tumors, while only in 9% of NB patients. This evidence concerns the gene FOXR2 and neuroblastoma.
