This problematic distinction has been recently exemplified by the TRICOTEL study, a multi-center, single-arm phase 2 study involving the treatment of patients with untreated BM from melanoma, with or without a BRAFV600 mutation, who received a combination of immunotherapy (atezolizumab) and BRAF/MEK inhibitors (vemurafenib and cobimetinib). This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and melanoma.
