It has been reported that the humanhepatoma-derived growth factor (HDGF), containing the chromatin-associatedN-terminal proline–tryptophan–tryptophan–proline(PWWP) domain (the N-terminal 100 amino acids of HDGF) capable ofbinding the SMYD1 promoter, participates in variouscellular processes and is involved in human cancer. This evidence concerns the gene SMYD1 and cancer.
