GPT and susceptibility to pneumonia measurement: The patient is a 75-year-old male with a past medical history of coronary artery disease with previous coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and hypertension initially presented to his primary care provider (PCP) with generalized weakness, fevers, exertional dyspnea, cough, and confusion. After failed treatment with oral steroids and azithromycin for suspected pneumonia, his PCP did further workup where he found elevated alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and total and direct bilirubin (Table 1).
