We found that CRP ≥8 mg/L appeared to mitigate the protective effect of low CrAg titer in our population, with meningitis or death events rising from ∼5% in persons with CRP <8 mg/L and titer CrAg <1:160 to ∼20% in persons with CRP ≥8 mg/L and CrAg titer <1:160. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and infectious meningitis.
