Abnormal 123I-2β-carbomethoxy-3β-(4-iodophenyl)-N-(3-fluoropropyl) nortropane dopamine transporter single-photon emission computed tomography (DAT-SPECT) reveals a nigrostriatal dopaminergic deficit and is considered useful to detect dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s disease as well as progressive supranuclear palsy and corticobasal degeneration. This evidence concerns the gene SLC6A3 and corticobasal degeneration disorder.
