F10 and atrial fibrillation: NOACs are either direct thrombininhibitors, namely dabigatran, or factor Xa inhibitors, including apixaban,betrixaban, edoxaban, and rivaroxaban, that are characterised by predictablepharmacokinetic properties, quick action at onset and offset, fixeddosing-regimen, less frequent monitoring or follow-up needs, acceptable safetyprofile, few drug-food and drug-drug interactions, and comparable safety andefficacy with warfarin in the approved indications, i.e., atrial fibrillation(AF) and venous thromboembolism [4, 5].
