Zhou et al. [32, 33] found that RBP4promoted the development of atherosclerosis in both diabetic rats by regulatingthe JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway and rat aortic smooth muscle cells in ahigh-glucose environment, further validating that high levels of RBP4 promotedthe proliferation of VSMCs by regulating this pathway. Here, STAT3 is linked to atherosclerosis.
