Forthe risk of ischemic stroke among 946 women in the Nurses’ Health Study [22],women in the highest quartile (≥2.59 mg/L) of β2M had a statisticallysignificant increase in the odds of developing an ischemic stroke (OR 1.71, 95%CI 1.14–2.56) compared to those in the lowest quartile (≤1.49 mg/L) afteradjustment for traditional stroke risk factors.
