Another study conductedby Goren et al. [109] measured the serum levels of 186 microRNAs in thesera of 30 stable chronic systolic HF patients and 30 controls, demonstratinghow, among these, only 4 were expressed to a greater extent in the group ofpatients with HF (miR-423-5p, miR-320a, miR-22, and miR-92b) with a specificityand sensitivity of 90%, and there was a correlation with important prognosticparameters including elevated serum BNP levels, a wide QRS, and dilatation of theleft ventricle and left atrium. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and hydrops fetalis.
