VIM and cancer: The molecular characterization of these EpCAM+ITGAV+ and EpCAM+ITGAV− populations revealed that EpCAM+ITGAV+ cancer cells upregulated the expression of Vim and several EMT-transcription factors (EMT-TFs), while retaining the expression of most epithelial differentiation genes compared with EpCAM+ITGAV− cancer cells (Fig. 2D).
