A previous report highlighted the differences in the African ancestry–associated genes in patients with TNBC that impact tumor biology and clinical outcomes.39 Thus, it will be interesting to see whether leptin signaling has a molecular crosstalk with these African ancestry–associated genes and whether that contributes to observed disparities in age at onset and more frequent diagnosis of luminal A and TNBC subtypes in Black women with obesity.
