Among the genetic risk factors, BRCA1 (OMIM 113705) and BRCA2 (OMIM 600185) are most commonly (>50%) associated with early-onset BC.21 Some race-associated differences in the frequency of these mutations are observed, with Black women having a lower frequency of BRCA1 and a relatively higher frequency of BRCA2 than White women.21 The gene discussed is BRCA2; the disease is breast cancer.
