A pro-inflammation score, calculated for CD14 monocytes based on the expression of pro-inflammatory genes (CXCL8, CCL2, CCL3, CCL5, IL1B, CXCL9, and CXCL10) with the AddModuleScore function, revealed differing subsets in pro-inflammation scores between T2D and non-diabetes, with T2D displaying a higher pro-inflammation score (Figure 2E).
