DCT and Alzheimer disease: In addition to the genes related to growth and feed efficiency, the DCT gene (chr5: 151,495,518-151,529,776 bp), related to pigmentation (Guyonneau et al., 2004), was also detected in this study, and this might be related to the hair depigmentation, which causes single white hairs in the fur (sprinklers) impacting the pelt quality of AD infected mink (Farid and Ferns, 2011).
