ESR1 and Crohn disease: Our findings revealed a positive correlation between dietary fat intake and disease activity indicators in both UC and CD patients, as shown by the Mayo score (R = 0.3183, p < 0.0001), fecal calprotectin levels (R = 0.2417, p < 0.0005) and ESR (R = 0.2417, p < 0.0001) in UC patients, Crohn’s disease activity index (R = 0.2734, p < 0.0001), fecal calprotectin levels (R = 0.1685, p = 0.0042) and ESR (R = 0.1114, p = 0.0112) in CD patients (Figure 1a).
