Finally, analysis of altered transcription factor activity in the hippocampus in schizophrenia patients revealed the increased activity of sixteen transcription factors in males (ARID2, ARNT, ATF3, BHLHE40, HOXB13, NAFF, MEIS1, MNT, ONECUT1, PBX3, POUF2, SNAI2, SOX11, TEAD1, ZBTB7A, and ZNF263) and twenty-four transcription factors in females (BATF, CEBPA, CTCFL, EBF1, HNF4G, JUN, KLF6, KLF9, LYL1, MAF, MAZ, NEUROD1, NFE2, NFKB1, NR2F1, PAX5, PRDM14, RELA, SPI1, STAT2, TBX21, THAP1, THAP11, and ZKSCAN1) (Supplementary Table 11). This evidence concerns the gene PRDM14 and schizophrenia.
