For instance, BCL2L11 (or BIM), which encodes Bcl2, a regulator of pro-apoptotic signaling in HIV-1 infection [51] (log2FC = 0.63), PLD1, which encodes Phospholipase D1, an enzyme that links T cell activation signals to increased cell permissivity to HIV-1 infection [52] (log2FC = 0.64), and FOXP3, which encodes a marker of regulatory CD4+ T cells [53] (log2FC = 0.85) all displayed an upregulated expression in GFP-positive cells (Figure 2A).
