During the post mortem examination of green sea turtles (GSTs) stranded on the Central Queensland Coast, specifically within Port Curtis from 2017 to 2020, and animals that had been in veterinary care but were unresponsive to treatment and, therefore, terminated during the same period, a subset of GSTs were found to have mild to very severe myocarditis, endocarditis, or both. This evidence concerns the gene HPGDS and endocarditis.
