Given the substantial evidence supporting the role of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in the pathogenesis of several inflammatory conditions, such as psoriasis, anti-TNF drugs including infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab, certolizumab, and golimumab offer an effective therapeutic option that significantly improves the signs and symptoms of psoriasis (along with inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis) [7,8,9,10,11]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is psoriatic arthritis.
