Previously, we and others reported that the increased adipose expression of CXCL10 in individuals with obesity was associated with inflammatory (IL-1β expression, C-reactive protein levels) and other factors (BMI, CXCR3, and reduced neovascularization causing adipose tissue hypoxia) [19,20,21]. The gene discussed is CXCR3; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
