KLK3 and neoplasm: Even after adjustment for other baseline patient characteristics, preoperative PSA value, pathologic tumor characteristics, and adjuvant radiation therapy in multivariable Cox regression models, the continuously coded higher preoperative prostate volume (hazard ratio 1.012, 95% confidence interval 1.005–1.019; p < 0.001) as well as the categorized prostate volume above median (>40 cm3) remained independent predictors of a higher BCR rate after radical prostatectomy (hazard ratio 1.66, 95% confidence interval 1.17–2.36; p = 0.005).
