A recent cross-sectional study evaluated age-specific changes in lesional and non-lesional tissues and blood from patients with moderate-to-severe AD and found that Th2 cytokines (IL5, IL13, CCL13, CCL18, and CCL26), as well as Th22 markers, IgE levels, and eosinophilic count significantly decreased with age in patients with AD. This evidence concerns the gene CCL26 and Alzheimer disease.
