Several experimental pieces of evidence have demonstrated the anti-cancer effect of CGAs [110]: importantly, their supplementation potentiates regorafenib (a multikinase inhibitor targeting the RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK pathway) activity in human HCC [111] and promotes the effect of 5-fluorouracil in HCC cells by reducing (i) the extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs) (in vitro and in vivo) and (ii) DNMT1 expression [105]. This evidence concerns the gene MAP2K7 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
