Furthermore, we also observed that pitavastatin promoted cleaved PARP-1 activation; Abdullah et al. [37] and Jiang et al. [39] showed that pitavastatin blocks geranylgeranyl protein and mevalonate products to inhibit mevalonate pathway progression, leading to cleaved PARP accumulation and subsequent cancer cell apoptosis in ovarian cancer, breast cancer and glioblastoma.
