CBLN1 and neoplasm: Tumor tissue contained significantly higher proportions of mono- and polyunsaturated LPC (16:1, 18:1, 20:4, and 22:6), SMs with 32–34 carbons, Cer with longer chains (C24:0–C26:0), and TAGs with PUFAs with 56 carbons.On the other hand, SMs with more than 34 carbons were decreased in tumors, as well as shorter-chain ceramides (Classification scoring based on TAG, SM, and Cer (or without Cer in other cohorts) signatures was able to discriminate tumors from non-diseased tissue AUC > 0.83.
