In their study, Aivo et al. used the supplementation of 20,000 IU of cholecalciferol weekly in MS patients treated with IFNβ-1b for one year, which resulted in an increase in TGF-β levels in the intervention group without affecting the levels of IL-22, INF-γ, IL-17A, IL-2, IL-10, IL-9, IL-6, IL-13, IL-4, IL-5, IL-1β or TNF-α in either group.
