Our hypothesis that the BC and CBD combination mediated neuroprotection in DN due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity is supported by increased sirT3, SOD2, and Nrf2 in the diabetic rats treated with the BC and CBD combination and decreased NLRP3, NFκB, and COX2 levels, which is also supported by other prior findings [104,105,106].
