Subsequently, we evaluated their neuroprotective activity using various assays, including paralysis, thrashing, chemotaxis, and sensitivity to 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), in several AD model C. elegans strains, such as CL4176, CL2122, and CL2355 (Aβ-induced neuronal damage); VH254 (tau-induced neuronal damage); and PHX3692 (damage in GABA neurons). The gene discussed is MAPT; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
