Based on this evidence, we evaluate if lactate-derived pyruvate (produced by lactate dehydrogenase A, LDHA), which could be incorporated into mitochondria by mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC), and mitochondrial glutamine metabolization by glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH) contribute to filling the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle during viability and enhanced breast cancer migratory ability (Figure 5D). This evidence concerns the gene LDHA and breast carcinoma.
