We have previously demonstrated that the downregulation of ribosomal protein uL3 (formerly rpL3) positively correlates with drug resistance in CRC and lung cancer cells lacking active p53, and uL3 status is essential for cell response to anticancer drugs such as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), oxaliplatin, and actinomycin D (Act D). This evidence concerns the gene RPL3 and colorectal carcinoma.
