VEGFA and neoplasm: The most important and well-known positive molecular regulators of tumor neo angiogenesis are members of the VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) family, which are secreted in the form of dimeric glycoproteins with a molecular weight of 36–46 kilodaltons and act through tyrosine kinase (TK) receptors and co-receptors (neuropilins NRP-1 and NRP-2).
