The role of SerpinB3 in carcinogenesis includes the induction of EMT [18,79,80], the ability to inhibit cell death by preventing cancer cell apoptosis [81] by either inhibiting JNK or P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and/or suppressing mitochondrial ROS generation (Figure 2) [14,82,83]. This evidence concerns the gene SERPINB3 and cancer.
