Considering that meningiomas are located outside the blood–brain barrier and that high expression of somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2) has been detected across all grades [7,8], peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) employing [177Lu]Lu-[DOTA-Tyr3]octreotate (177Lu-DOTA-TATE) has recently been evaluated as a treatment option for meningiomas, mostly in a salvage therapy setting [9,10]. The gene discussed is SSTR2; the disease is meningioma.
