In a mouse model of osteoarthritis (OA) induced by anterior cruciate ligament transection, IL-17 produced by Th17 and γδ T cells triggered the senescence in the articular cartilage, and senescent fibroblasts in the joints further promoted Th17 skewing, indicating the bidirectional connection between IL-17-type immunity and cell senescence in OA [51].
