In contrast, when Fn14 is knocked out, C26 Fn14 KO tumours (134.1 ± 6.9, n = 5) produce significantly less lactate compared to their C26 Fn14 WT counterparts (250.1 ± 13.4, n = 5; P < 0.0001) (Fig. 4b), suggestive of altered glucose metabolism and downstream lactate production caused by expression of Fn14 in tumours.
