In DNMT1–/– cells, decitabine robustly upregulates TET2, with re-expression of tumor suppressors at 0.5 μM and 5 μM doses and aza-T-dCyd at a 0.5 μM dose only upregulates TET2 and induces p16ink4A re-expression. The gene discussed is TET2; the disease is neoplasm.
