Severe outcomes with higher morbidity and mortality rates in SARS-CoV-2 infected subjects have been associated with various factors, including age and comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney and liver diseases, low lymphocyte and albumin counts, elevated levels of lactate dehydrogenase, C-reactive protein, red blood cell distribution width, blood urea nitrogen, and direct bilirubin [20,21,22]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
