Absence of 1p and 19q chromosomal arms was associated with better progression-free survival and a longer overall survival rate. LOH on chromosomes 1p, 9p, 10q, 17p, and 19q was associated with a poor prognosis. Whole chromosome 7 gain increases the probability of recurrence and is associated with shorter survival rates when compared to EGFR amplification. LOH on chromosome 10 can be a useful genetic marker in GBM for prognosis and diagnosis. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and glioblastoma.
