Beyond tumorigenesis15,36, pLIN28A-mediated direct regulation of mRNA decay might also account for the developmental timing of Caenorhabditiselegans larvae37 and the functions of LIN28A in glucose metabolism20 and could be relevant for a range of diseases in which LIN28A is implicated, including mouse tissue repair38, human β cell differentiation39 and Parkinson disease pathogenesis40.
