In the context of T2DM, the identification of elevated circulating inflammatory factors such as cytokines, C-reactive protein (CRP), and chemokines in T2DM patients, as well as increased concentrations of some adipokines secreted by adipose tissue, associated with insulin resistance and pancreatic islet inflammation, creates a new field for understanding the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of T2DM (Cheng and Yu, 2022; Stanimirovic et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and Insulin resistance.
