Recent research has elucidated the involvement of the JAK/signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT) pathway in the pathogenesis of granuloma annulare, demonstrating constitutive activation of STAT1 and STAT3,3 in addition to upregulation of JAK2 and JAK3 in lesional skin.4 This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and granuloma annulare.
