Cathepsin B (CatB), vascular cell adhesion protein 1 (VCAM-1), neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), protein S100-A9, prosaposin, and thrombospondin-1 levels were significantly increased in the patients with sepsis compared with those of the controls (p < 0.001). Here, S100A9 is linked to Sepsis.
