RELN and Alzheimer disease: Among excitatory neurons, we identified one HC-specific (CA1 pyramidal neurons) and four EC-specific (L2 RELN+ lateral EC, L3 RELN+, L5 and L2/3 TOX3+TTC6+ neurons) subtypes that were significantly less abundant (OR = 0.38–0.66) in individuals with a pathologic diagnosis of AD (Fig. 3a and Supplementary Fig. 37a–c).
