TNF and mastitis: Wang et al. constructed a genome-wide DNA methylation map of Staphylococcus aureus-induced mastitis in Chinese Holstein cattle and found that CmCGG differentially methylated/expressed genes, such as IL6R, TNF, BTK, IL1R2, and TNFSF8, were enriched in several immune-related Gene Ontology (GO) terms, indicating their important roles in the host immune response and their potential as candidate genes for mastitis caused by S. aureus (Wang et al., 2020).
