GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: After excluding genes associated with impaired VLDL secretion, the MR analyses consistently showed the significant associations between genetically predicted NAFLD and CAVS for 3 traits: chronic elevation of alanine aminotransferase (odds ratio = 1.13 [95% CI: 1.01–1.25]), imaging-based NAFLD (odds ratio = 2.81 [95% CI: 1.66–4.76]), and biopsy-confirmed NAFLD (odds ratio = 1.12 [95% CI: 1.01–1.24]).
