The strong association between plasma p-tau181 and Aβ-positivity has been demonstrated through various assays (10, 11, 12), and heightened attention has been directed towards other p-tau epitopes (most notably p-tau217), which have emerged as promising targets for detecting biologically defined AD with even greater diagnostic accuracy, as corroborated by research comparing different p-tau biomarkers within the same cohort (13, 14). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
