This downregulation has the potential to diminish the aggressivenessof GBM cells by inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition, whichis mediated by the wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.66,67 The work developed here shows that encapsulating DHA in liposomesenhances its stability and effectiveness as a therapeutic molecule.Consequently, DHA can inhibit the synthesis of key pro-inflammatorymediators, such as IL-6 and TNFα, thereby modulating the inflammatorystate in both macrophages and GBM cells. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is glioblastoma.
