On that basis, we incorporated a gene set consisting of differentially expressed genes between ccRCC tissues and peritumor normal tissues (Log2|FC| greater than 1 and a P-value lower than 0.05), as well as sets of genes exhibiting strong correlation with ALDH9A1 (correlation coefficient greater than 0.5) based on the TCGA-KIRC cohort, to identify potential downstream of ALDH9A1 in ccRCC (Fig. 6B). The gene discussed is ALDH9A1; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
