A clinical study, consistent with our findings, reported that consuming chlorella intake for six months increased the plasma levels of adiponectin in patients with T2DM and prediabetes (Martins et al., 2023), while a pre-clinical study reported that treatment with Parachlorella beijerinckii increased adiponectin levels in mice fed a high-fat diet (Noguchi et al., 2013).
